Got odd behavior in '89 Turbo SPG. I refuse to call it a problem, cuz I can fix it in a minute. Still, I am very curious. Fuse #22 fails time after time. Maybe every couple months. This is the ecu fuse + I forget what else.
Trying to isolate the exact conditions over the past year, it apparently is aggravated by warm weather, long hot drives, heavy loads in the car, but these may all be coincidental. It does occur more often in summer than the cooler months ( this is Puget Sound, it never gets "cold" here)
The fuse never fails while running, never fails when cold. It will only fail on hot re-starts after a brief shutdown - like grocery store, rest stop on a trip, etc. This failure was dramatic, leading to two tows, before an indy mechanic pointed out that poor quality fuses do exist, but now I handle it routinely by keeping spare 10 amp red fuses inside the little glass house. However, I can't loan the car to girlfriend or anyone non mechanical, due to possible fuse faulure and being stranded.
Any suggestions? Anyone had/having similar behavior?
