Lots of possibilites, many guesses.
I assume that the AMM is properly hooked up, and that the hose from the AMM to the throttle body is in good shape. Also, make sure that the connector to the ECU is on correctly - every wire has two ends, and a bad connection at the ECU could look like a disconected AMM.
Also, acceleration takes fuel. How old is the fuel filter? How's the fuel pressure (pump). Is your fuel pressure good? With low fuel pressure, or good fuel pressure but poor fuel delivery (CC's per minute), you can actually be running the engine out of fuel when you accelerate. There are fuel pressure and fuel delivery tests - I recommend getting a decent mechanic to run them, as opening up a pressurized fuel system can be fun.
