About the only advantage to having Pa classic plates, is that you'll save on the annual registration fees...the $75 charge is for the life of the vehicle. There's also a approx $25 fee to switch to a classic title. Classic plates are not meant for a daily driven vehicle... Use is limited to car club functions, and only one day a week for 'occasional use'. Annual safety inspections are still required.
See the info sheet at:
http://www.dmv.state.pa.us/pdotforms/fact_sheets/fs-ant.pdf
It's in Adobe pdf, so it'll take a bit to load....
I have Antique plates on my '66 Buick GS's....saves me a bundle on registration and inspection costs (no inspection required)....but the collector car insurance limits how I can use the cars...which stinks, but then again, I'm only paying $250 a year insurance for the 3 cars....
