Open APC box and find 3 potentiometers, one marked k, one f and one p. don't touch k pot.
Turn f pot about 1/4 turn clockwise. turn p pot clockwise about 1/8 turn. Test drive car. boost should go to about 1/3 red at WOT. If it overruns and settles back at 1/3 into red, you've turned up p a bit too much. Bump back until the overrun is minimal.
Better boost reponse is also available with the base boost set at about 6 psi. buy a cheap calibrated boost gauge and tee it into a hose off the intake with enough feeder hose to reach through the window into the cabin. Pull the plug out of the APC solenoid up near the coil. set drive car and see what base boost is at WOT. My guess is that you will see only 3.5 psi. If so shorten wastegate controller rod (under turbo) several turns until base boost is close to 6 psi. this rod has a lock nut on it that should be cracked before you have heated up the turbo. This will make trial and error adjustment much easier when you are turning up the boost. Also be careful not to twist the threaded rod that goes itno the controller, which can tear the diaphram, i.e. hold the threaded rod with a needle nose pliers while you turn the collar in to shorten the rod.
consider a 3.0 fuel pressure regulator (fpr) from a non turbo car to enrichen the mixture to reduce knock.
