Eric, I have taken the axles out of my car and inspected the drivers. Under acceleration, my car feels like it is hammering the ground. The car will literally shake terribly if I stay on the gas.
What I did when I got the axle out was feel the leading side of each of the 3 wall things in the driver itself. What I did was run my finger over it. One of the drivers is quite worn, I would say there is a depression about 2mm down. One of the other 3 walls was also worn, and another not worn at all. If you feel the backside of the three sections (the part that is presumably unused and fresh) then you can see how its supposed to feel. On my car the backsides are completely flat. I have a feeling using your finger is probably more accurate than using your eyesight to tell if its worn or not.
I'm looking forward to see what the other guys have to say.
Rob
