1. a darling old nat asp 900 is nice to have, but few/far between and, lets face it, not as fun as a turbo. I have one of the former, and if not for it's valuable-only-to-me condition, I'd replace it w/ a turbo. Nonetheless, a refined old 900 is still a hoot to drive.
2. As you probably suspect: Know going in that we're talking about a series of car who's youngest copies are already, what, about 10 yrs old. Mine is pushing 20yrs old. You can easily get screwed re: parts and repairs. Multiply that by the fact the car's are modest volume production, nearly hand-built (read: full of "character"), Swedish engineered (er, "different"), and sometimes fussy critters. Tutorials on "Cursing in Swedish" can be found thru Google.
3. But hey, if you're looking for a little project go for it :o) You can fix anything w/ Saabnet.
