Fitting the turbo exhaust to the n/a 900 seems to mislead some folks into expecting more power. What they seem to get instead is more noise, and sometimes not pleasant noise. It is generally known that all cars fitted with turbos need less exhaust silencing cuz the turbo itself actually acts as a sort of muffler, odd as it may seem. It does suppress some noise.
Keep your turbo exhaust, do not spend more bucks on going back to n/a system, but look into fitting an aftermarket tailpipe extension from Monza-Pacesetter to your Saab. These are high quality, very good-looking, come in various single or dual outlet styles, and are themselves built with some silencing material, so all the raspyness is removed. Many exhaust shops carry these, or can get them for you. Your shop will merely cut back existing Saab tailpipe to allow new extension installation to the bumper lip, or wherever you prefer it. I have been tempted to fit the slash-tip dual outlet type to my SPG. Their webpage is: pacesetterexhaust.com
Good Luck!
