What you should look into is... Posted by JustinHiFi [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: How much watts can I pull for my audio ?, Antoine, Mon, 18 Aug 2003 09:29:49 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The actual power draw of the amp. For instance, the amp will/should have a power pull stat, or tell you how much amperage is required to run the amp. This usually is the amperage needed at the top end of the power output.
What amp/model you looking at?
FYI- I have a '91 900 with the 80amp alt. I run 2 amps:
-Crossfire 100x4 @ 4 ohms (front and rear + tweets)
-Crossfire 150x2 @ 4 ohms (2-12" subs)
When I have it really cranked, there is no light fade at all. This is with H-4 headlights, driving lights, A/C, manual tranny cooler pump, stand alone ignition/knock system, CB radio, 1000watt power inverter (laptop navigation system), radar detector, and cabin fan on high.
If you do find that the amp is giving power strain, go you can get a Capacitor. i would recommend one with a digital volt readout. What this does is give your amp(s) a nice deep supply of juice to use, serperate of the car's battery...
Let me know if you need any more info...
