What did you have done on your C900?

I spent about 7k this year on rebuilt tranny with big pinion, '91T engine(82K miles) with mitsu turbo, power steering rack and new Ronal RT rims with expensive tires. In previous years I had the clutch done, break Master cylinder, wheel bearings, Cat, muffler, shocks and other smaller things. I did the shocks, contol arms, headliner, battery, water pump, alternater myself so I saved some money.
My car has about 200k on it and I new I woudl have to pay for stuff when it broke but I think that is better than having a car payment and I get to support the local economy through my Saab mech and wreck yards.
My car should last another 200k. My car had been abused by the previous owner and the tranny still lasted 190k which is very good. I like having a unique fun car so I plan on keeping mine for a long time and continue to upgrade as stuff breaks but there isn't a lot more to fail since I have done so much.
I'm really happy with my Saab experience and love driving my car every time. I also love the look of it.
I don't understand people that are suprised that a car with 200k on it needs sone stuff replaced. The fact that there so many C900s on the road still is a testament to how well the cars were built. Bullet proof engines, great hadling and good safety and the 5 speed trannies are good with proper shift technique. Myself, wife and two kids use my Saab for camping and I used it for building our office and fence and deck. I bolt a pallet to the Yakima roof rack and it become my Saab truck. For camping, I fill the space between the two bikes and put a air dam in front of the stuff and it works great. A friend with an SUV couldn't believe how much I could carry. I also have spring spacers and heavy load springs in rear to handle all the extra weight. Not many other sports cars could be as versatile as mine.
Best, KB88900TC.
