Davnport,
This sounds like a bad hall sensor or a bad connection. I do not like changing parts in trying to solve a problem, but sometimes that is the only way to find the problem at hand. I had a similiar problem several years ago. The car would run perfectly on the way to work which is about 24 miles each way. In the morning the car would run fine. On my way home in the afternoon, the car would stop at the same place or close to the same place every day and after a few seconds, it was start fine. Since I had just put in a new rebuilt distribution, I did not suspect it as the problem. To make a long story short, it was the hall effect in the distributor. I replaced the distributor and that solved the problem. My car is a 1986 SAAB 16 valve Turbo 900. Hope this helps. george
