i think all you have to do is put 12 volts on the pump and the motor will run. just take two leads and attach to the pump wiring or harness to any 12 volt battery and it should run. then reverse the connection, ie if the positive side of the battery was on wire 1 and the negative was on wire 2, then put the negative on wire 1 and positive on wire 2 to reverse the pump action-I believe that is all the goes on in the car electical system of course it uses relays and such to perform that function. i had an original cylider break right where it attaches to the top frame. I got two new cylinders from i think hydroelectric. be careful when replacing the cylinders since if you only replace one, it may have a different stroke/displacement if they are not the same brand etc. if you go the oem route from the dealer, you probably won't have that problem but just check their movement out as you bleed the air out to make sure they move the same distance at the same rate etc. good luck
