Mine burned out this past weekend. It looks like the fan blade came out of the housing slightly and got stuck, causing the fan to burn out smoke and all. I just unplugged it and turned on the a/c to engage the other fan (driver side) when the car is heating up which seems to work ok for now. Question to all - if I had the dual fan mod done, could I just unplug the passenger side and the driver side fan would still come on?
I called Jim @ sobstory who was out of used ones. I called goldwings after searching the internet and was quoted a high price of $125 or somewhere around there. Thanks - no thanks. I called saabdepot.com at 18886777227 and was quoted $75 plus $10 ship. Derek had me check out which fan I currently had for 92 - there are three types, Delco which is sealed in the back completely, Bosch which has holes in the back so you can see the coils and then another Bosch (I think) which is slightly bigger with a red sticker that says saab #------- (i have this one). I left a message and hopefully he will get back to me to place the order. Seems like positive feedback here on tsn and 3 days to NY via fedex ground he says (they are in Canada), but have an early ship cutoff which seemed to have passed at 1:30pm est.
