Hi All,
I bought an '89 SPG early this summer and have been working hard at work fixing up (with a lot of help from this archive!). I've got new brakes, new shocks, new balljoints/tie rod ends, new pass. side inner driver/tripod joint, new tires and as of this morning, an alignment. It drives great, but I notice that ever since I got it, putting it into 5th gear is sometimes hard, not impossible, it just feels like it is binding against something in the shifting mechanism. Has anyone else experienced this feeling? It is sort of like the passage that the shifter is going through is somehow narrowing at random times. Could this be the transmission or something in the shift linkage? In other gears it shifts smoothly so I am a little perplexed. I did have had my mechanic adjust the shifter when I got the car so I believe it is adjusted correctly.... Thanks,
Ram
