from a U-pull-it yard. I was looking for an anti-lock spindle and a reverse light switch when I came across an '87 900S 4dr. I've only seen an engine bay as clean in cars on used car lots. I figure the prior owner didn't have it long before the tranny gave out (or maybe the motor?). Anyway, the a/c hoses are practically brand new and still have that powdery looking coating on them. The compressor is a shiny silver without any greasy dirt on it. There isn't even a dirty film on the receiver's sight glass. I had to have it. I pulled the entire system as a complete unit; never cracked a seal and installed it this afternoon (mine leaked so I didn't reinstall it after I did the head gasket this past winter). Man, does she blow cold! Takes a little while for the R134a to start cooling but once it does...look out! The best part of course, was the price ... $67 and change + a little DIYer elbow grease. Gotta love these U-pull-it yards. :o)
