I have the same car and also did not believe the amp was there. It's not very big, and it's mounted on the bottom of the metal cross member near the hydraulic pump thing. If you pull the bottom cushion out and cram your face down to look forward Under the metal brace you will see (barely) that there is a small box with two connectors. There are two torx screws facing the front seat. Take them out. The other end of the amp mount is a tongue that fits in a slat on the bottom of the metal brace. Jockey the mount forward to release the tongue then push back to get access to the connectors from the backside. Whoever designed this arrangement should be punished. There is too little slack in the wiring harness to move the amp out in the open, so you've got to unhook the connectors almost by braile. One is a standard-type round plug with a little protruding lock. Push in the little button on the plug and it comes out. That one's pretty easy. The other plug is square and is held in with a peculiar sliding lock arrangement that was a bitch to get loose due to the limited space and odd angle of attack. With patience it can be done. Hope you don't get a sore back or neck from the job.
As an aside, after seeing the amp I got a donor amp and used the connectors to have a conversion cord made to connect the stock wiring to an old Alpine amp I have lying around. Problem is there's not enough power nearby and to run a power cable back there from the battery means taking the console and lower dash off, and I've not taken the time to do that. Some day...
