I figured out a beautiful trick to compress the pressure plate for installation. I put pressure plate on cardboard, on floor underneath the rear jacking point. Then mount release bearing and the slave cylinder on top the the fingers as is normal orientation. Fit the spare tire jack on the back of the slave cylinder and into the slot on the car. Now "jack the car up." If the release bearing is correctly aligned the car will not move up but the PP fingers will compress nicely - allowing you to put the special spacer ring into the pressure plate.

About the inner driver, after the the circlip on the tripod bearing is removed, how does one pull off the tripod bearing? I tried tapping the shaft with a hammer with little success. I'd rather not disassemble the outer CV's to get the new boot on.
