There are several 3M adhesives...there are recent posts about this. 88 (08088 I think it is actually) is the General Trim Adhesive, and customer service at 3M recommends it. It is good for high heat. Should be maybe $12 for an 18 ounce can. 90 is the high performance stuff, and 3M claims there can be some interaction with the foam in the headliner material...so don't use it. The third kind...maybe 77? is not acceptable at all as the high heat in the car will cause it to release and the headliner will fall down.
3M's Web site (http://www.3m.com)has some info about the different kinds...navigate through the product catalog section and look for the Adhesives descriptions.
Good luck, I have two SAABs, one with no headliner (took it down and never put a replacement up) and one with a headliner that sags so bad I can't see out the back. I will have to do this job soon.
Good luck!
