Tired of failing New York enhanced emissions on my 85 900T. Note that over the past few years the limits have been rolled back and reduced and reduced!!!! Even for a pretty perfect Turbo like mine, I could not get a pass. I was buggered if I was going to replace the cat and O2 sensor which are both less than 2 years old on a car that does 28mpg and runs as it was designed to.

NYS Limits are: HC 0.80gpm /CO 15.00gpm/NOx 2.00gpm
Best of 6 tests 0.26 0.64 3.07 not bad but NOx fail
worst of 6 0.68 5.64 4.51 !

All tests done on 6 seperate machines at my own expense $25.00 a time. NO adjustments to my car made...so just how accurate are these machines???????!!!!!!!! I smell a rat here chaps...

Final Test...HC 0.19/CO 1.06/ NOx 0.77... how was this achieved? Remember....NO adjustments, car is factory spec/timing at 16 etc etc

The 'cure'...come on...how much are you gonna pay me????...LOL

Go to Home Depot, buy 1 gallon Denatured Alcohol....mix with 1 gallon gasoline...add this mix to your car when low fuel light just comes on...gives an approx. 25-30% alcohol mix...drive the car at least 10-15 miles and give to tester HOT. Run the test...sod you New York State and your bullshit emissions games.
