I.ve installed rubber spring spacers on the rear coils of my 1990 900 Cabriolet. I purchased the car at 86K and noticed that I got excessive weight transfer upon acceleration and excessive lean upon corneering. Basically, I sawed a 1 1/2 inch spacer in half so that one side was flat and the other side had an indent for the spring coil winding. I then jacked up the car to extend the spring, inserted the spacer flat side up as high as it would go in the coil, and pounded it tighter with a hammer until it was flat up against the flat upper spring mount. When I lowered the car it stayed in place. To ensure this, I installed a hose clamp down spring from the spacer. Everything has stayed in place for more than 10k miles, dive and squat are greatly reduced with little effect on ride, and the car corners better and is more responsive, with better traction on acceleration and braking.
