Lately i've been dealing with a leaky rack....just filling it up with new fluid and going on with life figuring the car is old and i probably need a "new" rack. The other day I had a few spare hours and decided to find the culprit. So, I went directly to the Saabnet archives. Then I went to the garage armed with some great 'advice" - 30 min later after tightening a loose "hose clamp" that was hard to find and harder to reach - no more leaky rack!
Moral of the Story; Don't throw money at problems before finding the "true" culprit!
Also, when faced with a problem come here first.....then use the knowledge found to fix it yourself. Sometimes it's the simplest of fixes that any idiot can do himself - God knows I'm not a mechanic!
Oh well.....enough of that - I can't wait to get my new outer tie rod ends in the mail. I know I need new ones because my pass. side boot is cracked and the Saabnet archives tells me that is what is causing my clunking sound....
Any advice on the replacement of these rather rusted looking tie rod ends??????
Thank you all.
