You should ship it to San Francisco and I will look after it all winter while I let my 1994 C900TC Commemorative Edition get a rest. :)
Seriously, Here's a cut and paste from an old thread on this:
1. The most important thing is to prevent mice from infesting your car. Mice can do all sorts of evil things. In the cars I store, I place moth balls under the seats and in the back hatch. If I were storing the car long term, I'd put some in the engine bay too. Mice really like the engine bay. The ball in the exhaust that Gary mentioned would also keep the mice out of the exhaust.
(1) lifted the car with jackstands so the tires were off the floor
(2) added a little oil down each cylinder (spark plug holes)
(3) added some gasoline stabilizer to the tank (I don't always do this
though but should)
(4) disconnected the battery and brought it into the basement
(5) put a cup of baking soda in the interior and the trunk for odors
(just like in the refrigerator)
(6) made sure the coolant can withstand cold temperatures so the freeze-
out plugs don't pop
(7) topped off the brake fluid, but, it wouldn't be a bad idea to
completely flush it now
(8) never set the handbrake, just something that can freeze
(9) changed the oil, I would do it now instead of when you get back
(10) Another thing I sometimes do and sometimes forget is to insert a
small rubber ball into the tailpipe (if its round that is) to avoid
moisture rusting the pipe/muffler/etc. away if humidity is a problem
in winter months. I had a swiss-cheese muffler after one winter. Do
not forget to take the ball out before startup - stick a note on your
steering wheel or windshield to remind you.
(11) Make sure that when you get back to check the engine compartment and
under the car to make sure that animals have not made a home for
themselves.
