'85 SPG cooling system question Posted by Gordon [Email] (#97) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Gordon) on Fri, 17 Oct 2003 21:21:41 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Im going to replace the radiator on my new '85 SPG, was wondering if I should replace all the hoses also?....I have noticed that there is a gunk buildup inside, was thinking it might be a good idea to flush the system with a cooling system flushing agent &replace all hoses, then radiator/thermostat &switch.....would the car benefit from this? The car is pretty old, and it appears to have all original rad/hoses....(the "fins" on the radiator crumble when touched)...doesnt seem to run hot, bit it's been very cold out lately, I know it wont be able to maintain a cool temp. in the heat of the summer.
Also, I have read about cooling additives, like Redline's water wetter &how it can keep the temp. of the coolant a lot lower, any truth to this?
TIA!
