It was a good upgrade for me. My car now has 244k on it. If you read my past posts, I started with KYBs and Kilens which was a mistake. The bilsteins definitely tamed the spring. I've made several 2-3.5 hour drives in the car and while you do feel more on the road, it definitely has made the car more fun to drive without making it too uncomfortable.
My daily commuter though is an old Benotto fixed gear track bike with a front brake. It definitely has a more lively ride than the Saab.
BobD helped me do all the install work and he has vast, vast collection of parts so it was from his advice that I got the bilsteins (through shocks.com I think).
Hope this helps.
