hey guys:
i just bought an '89 900T yesterday. it's a beautiful machine, except for the fact that the belts (at least it sounds like the belts) have already begun to squeal like nobody's business. also, the heat doesn't work....could these two things be connected? the squealing comes and goes, both while driving and while starting up....but it happens most when i start up after sitting for a while, and (oddly enough) when i make left turns. in addition to this, i'm experiencing this odd thing with the clutch: very occasionally, and seemingly randomly, the clutch will behave as though the slave cylinder isn't working (i.e. engaging gears even though the pedal is all the way at the floor). my mechanic put in a new clutch before he sold it to me, so i don't see what the problem is. and i've had a slave cylinder go bad on me before on my old '85 900T; but i'm not losing any brake fluid this time around. what's wrong with this car??? i just bought the thing yesterday and im already having issues! i really appreciate your feedback, particularly on the squealing noise and its possible connection to the malfunctioning heating system.
thanks a million!
