Ok, an update. I came to this board awhile ago, trying to fix a broken fuel line at the pre-pump. Daughter had replaced the pump. Fixed the line, no start. Followed lots and lots of great suggestions here. Fuel relay tests, fuel pump tests, fuel to the injectors, spark, etc etc. Car wouldn’t run. Found bad wiring, began to fix, car would run, then wouldn’t, run well then run badly…figured we had a short, couldn’t find it. Replaced the hall effect connector on the distributor, checked cold start wiring, hot start wiring… Took to a local shop, had a bad experience, they didn’t want to be bothered with it. Got it running, ran two hours straight while we tried to find THE wire that was causing trouble. Didn’t find it. Finally told her to use it. Only used for short jaunts. Ran for a week, broke down again. Took it to East of Sweden (Denver/Boulder area). Fixed some bad connections, replaced fuel pump relay, ran well. Broke down going home! Bob from East of Sweden came to my home (A house call!) Turns out, the pre pump was in backwards. After market part, Bob says sometimes they are wired backwards. He said it shouldn’t have run at all! Go figure. But…he got us running, we are thrilled!
