1988 saab 900s 5 speed

The clutch does not want to behave. I was driving yesterday and after putting the clutch it in did not want to disengage. There was a high pitched squel. It did disengage after pushing on the pedal a couple of times. I tried shifting again and got the same problem. And then after I was unable to push the clutch pedal down because there was too much pressure. It also did not smell very good and there was a small amount of smoke coming from the hood.

Previously there was a loud pumping noise every time i pushed the clutch pedal. Shortly before it went out there was no pumping sound when pushing the pedal in. The clutch was replaced 20k ago, before we owned the car and the slave was replaced too at the time. However, the master cylinder was not, but my father bought a rebuild kit and rebuilt it as soon as we got the car.

Any ideas.

P.S. haynes manual said for clutch drag it could be
clutch plate seized on splines
flywheel spigot bearing seized
air in hydraulic system

and for Noise evident when depressing clutch pedal:
dry or worn release bearing
wornclutch plate or pressure plate assembly
