check the wiring for crank sensor... Posted by JimBlake [Email] (#141) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JimBlake) on Wed, 5 Nov 2003 06:48:17 In Reply to: Re: pin for checking ECU codes, Phil, Tue, 4 Nov 2003 16:34:32 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Here's something that happened to me. Obviously I can't say if this is what's going on for you...
The Hall-effect sensor is located at the crank pulley. The wire runs along the block over towards the throttle body. Under the TB is a plug where it's connected to the wiring harness. When I replaced my alternator, I pinched that wire under the alternator bracket. Grounded it out, the signal never got to the EZK module. No crank signal, therefore the EZK didn't fire the spark plugs. With no tach signal, the ECU didn't run the fuel pump.
Fortunately for me, the insulation was shredded but the wires were intact. I was able to get the wire out, wrap it in electrical tape, & it was good.
