did I screw up my oil pump?

I recently finished a transmission replacement in my 88 900 S.
I've driven the car roughly 200 miles since getting everything back together. When I turn the key to start the engine the oil light on the dashboard flashes 1-3 times and then goes out. It doesn't come on again until the car is turned off (which seems normal to me). I noticed though today that oil seems to be dripping down from around the area of the main crank pulley. While the engine was out I replaced the main crank seal and the oil pump o-ring. I used the OEM seal and a new rubber gasket for the oil-pump. I didn't have a torque wrench that went down low enough to torque the 8mm bolts holding the pump on and so tightened opposite bolts until it felt like the cover was touching the block. Now I know this procedure is sketchy - did I really screw this up and now see a small oil leak as a result?
I plan to replace the filter at 500 miles after swap - oil is very clear -a few bubbles though when I pulled the stick out today.
