I have used another method that is working for me so far.
1. As described in the previous message, remove the seats to gain access to the cables and align the seat back.
2. Cut 3/8" ID soft copper tubing into approximately 14-1/4" long pieces; two per seat. Bend the tubing to approximate the curve of the plastic housings.
3. The original plastic cable housings will be broken into two pieces. Leaving the cable in place, remove the outer housing piece (closest to the motor) and slide the copper tubing over the inner piece (closest to the seat back). It's a snug fit. Burrs or the slight decrease in the inside diameter from a tubing cutter should be cleaned up to ensure the tubing will fit over the housing. Then slide the outer plastic housing over the cable and inside the copper tube. In this way the original plastic housing, except for the end where it attaches to the motor, will be sleeved in copper tubing. Bend the tubing to fit.
4. Re-attach the cable housings to the motor, the motor to the seat, and the seat to the car.
The original plastic housing is maintained but its structural integrity is replaced by the copper sleeve.
