I had the same thing happen years ago on my 900T. Mechanic told me that I needed to use oil that wasn't parafin based. He told me the white stuff is the breakdown of the wax and that an oil fomulated for turbo charged engines would be better (since the saab turbos are oil cooled). He recommended Castrol 10w30. Now I'm using that same oil but Castrol now has one formulated for high mileage vehicles (over 75,000 Miles). Haven't had any white stuff on the dip stick since I changed oils and the car loves this oil. Feels like new after a fresh change. Hope this helps
