My experience with the SAS Mats is that they seem to be perfect until....you discover if you have a manual transmission that they drift up under the clutch and prevent it from going in all the way and fully engaging - which overtime will move up the day you need a new transmission. I can't remember if they affect the brake pedal too.
The problem is that they do not stay in place as you move your feet on the drivers side to push the accelerator, brake and clutch. I tried heavy duty double sided carpet tape and all that stuff which never lasted long.
I have softer heavy duty rubber mats with the deep tread that I picked up at sears or a discount car chain which are fine and never move an inch. They also hide all kinds of winter muck in the treads until you lift them out to clean.
