Just in case it's not the leaves... I've had this problem since new on my '87. Only showed up once or twice a year, because the foam pads (under rugs) soaked up the water. Can't add up the hours I spent chasing this problem. Here's a list of possible causes:
1. Saab sells plastic tubes which fit into the holes at either end of gutter, below windshield (under the rear edge of the hood). These were the biggest help. MUST PLUNGE LEAVES/DIRT OUT FROM TIME TO TIME.
2. Leaks in through trunk floor.
3. Look under interior panels and under rear seat for signs of leaks.
In my car, the water came into the passenger compartment through holes (intentional holes) in the rocker panels.
Good luck.
