Someone please offer assistance/advice!!!!!
I have a 1989 900s 2.0l 16v with about 215000km. Back in Sept I parked the car until mid October and when I went to start it would not. I discovered that the engine is flooding very badly upon startup. I started to go through Bently's diagnostics in the fuel injestion section and everything is checking OK. I have since replaced the Fuel Pressure Regulator, spark plugs, air filter, changed the oil (20w50) and most of the vacuum lines on the car.
I finally got the car running rough last night and drove it for a while. The car finally started after removing the plugs, drying them, blowing the excess fuel out of the cylinders replacing the plugs and after cranking the motor for over two minutes it finally stumbled to life. Under hard acceleration it would miss or stumble at wide open throttle, just back off the throttle a shade and it pulled fine.
Go out this morning and the damm thing won't go again. Has anyone else had these symptoms in the past and offer some advice as I am ready to push it off the harbour with a string attached to see how deep it is.
