I just re-alined mine too. I had 1st gear poppin out & reverse lights on while in 5th.
I used townsends advice. Put car in 3rd, put drill bit in shifter hole inside the car, loosen pinch bolt, then give a pull on th trans shaft to make sure it's in 3rd.
Took 10 minutes and cured all of my ills. Shifts real smoothe now, and I use Amsoil 20W-50, which many describe as "notchy". I don't know what "knotchy" means, cause this trans shifts smoother than ever
