hey guys....
let me paint a picture for you. me and my '89 900T 5-speed went on a road trip from my house in PA to my girlfriend's family's house in NC for thanksgiving. it's 450 miles each way, and needless to say by the time i got to NC, some things needed attending to. I had blown some kind of vaccum hose....it runs from a skinny cylinder-type thing attached to the brake master across the engine compartment to a plastic cylinder-looking thing that's attached to the passenger fender well behind the power steering reservoir. I went out and got some more hose and re-did the whole thing before i took the car the 450 miles home.....but now the engine makes this wierd noise at idle that sounds almost like an exhaust leak, but it's coming from the engine compartment. and since then, the car has developed a tendency to stall when i put in the clutch while driving.....instead of dropping to the normal 1000 or so RPM's, it will stall completely.....this happens seemingly randomly. I managed to get her home with the patched hose and the wierd stalling problem, but now i'd like to get her fixed up again, since i will undoubtedly be making that trip again and soon. (the curse of having a girlfriend whose family moved from 5 mins away to 9 hours away) so if anyone has any ideas about what the hell this might be....let me know. much appreciated, thanks!
