on cold start ups. I've been using it on my rebuilt 5 speed for about 11 months now and it is great to be able to smoothly shift from the start. If you are currently using gear lube then do a proper cleaning flush.
Some say that it is dangerous to switch from gear lube but with a good cleaning flush I don't think that this is warranted but I'm no expert. Therer seems to be a lot of opinions on this and you could do a search on the topic.
I like the Honda stuff and I have used Redline and gear lube.
You can get it at Honda dealers and it is something like $4.00/qt.
