Temp plug on pcv hose fine...no hurry.
When you unplugged the AIC you disabled the idle control completely. So if you have a problem with your AMM or AIC, it won't show up at all. I suspect you have a bad AMM if idle is OK after the O2 sensor takes over.
Regardless, try a thorough cleaning of your throttle body and butterfly with carbspray and a toothbrush. Then remove the AIC and free up the shutter with carb spray and finish with wd40.
