'89 SPG keep, part out, or restore....?

I got word on my '89 SPG with an odometer reading 213K. I have the car for 6 years, but for the last year it has sat in my driveway collecting pollen and frost due to what I had believed to be a headgasket problem. A friend had it evaluated by a saab shop, got it running and head gasket seem to have resealed itself. No coolant/oil issue. On the lift there was considerable rust on the underbody. Besides a slipping clutch and rust, what to do. Is it best to let it go for $500 or attempt at some bit of restore or with the undercarriage rusting pretty bad should it be taken off the road for good and part it out? I realize that it is hard to tell from your armchair, but pretty much lost as well as baffled. Never heard of a headgasket re-sealing after off the road for a year. The delemma is here is a small part of history, few made, wonderful car, bit of sentimental value as well. Do I let it go for $500 now or hold on to it only to send it to the junkyard in another year? Will the headgasket start releaking when it gets hotter? Any suggestions, insights, opinions welcome.
