In a month or so, I will be doing a lot of work on my '83 900T. I have various oil leaks from all the usual spots including the cooler hoses, a weak starter, a leaky freeze/core plug, a hairline crack in the exhaust manifold, worn engine mounts, worn ball joints and drive axles, and a tired steering rack.
I'm wondering if it would be easier and less time-consuming to just yank the motor and do all this work outside the car rather than squirming around trying to get it all done in tight quarters.
I am fully versed in the subtleties of motor yanking, especially on SAABs. So I'm looking for a little help with time-labor analysis. Any input would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
JD
PS: I'm debating whether it's worth trying to fix the (hairline) cracked manifold or just leave it be. Any thoughts?
