Glad to hear that you are adding a turbo to your setup! I currently am running 7.5psi with a Mitsu TE-05 turbo (off '90 and '91 SPGs) and SaabSavior's 130deg 2.75" downpipe and I "forgot" to put my cat converter back on..ooops:-)
For regulation of boost, I am just using the wastegate actuator arm length to adjust it. You speak about the "signal for the wastegate". If you are referring to the vacuum line which attaches to the wastegate rod acuator, It simply attaches to the output nipple on the intake housing of the turbo (clam shell area).
As for the BOV (Blow Off Valve),I am using this rather than a BPV (by pass valve). It attaches to the same hose which is hooked up the intake manifold, and the small vacuum line remains the same. I used a 1" (?) threaded pipe plug and worm hose clamp to seal off the intake pipe to the turbo, where the BPV would normally vent to.
Email and let me know if you have further questions...and remember 1 pound of boost is more than just 5 hp. Maybe the 1st pound, but it is not a linear equation.
I am going to get this baby on the dyno this winter break while I am home.
