I just got back from "the long way home." My kids are getting used to roundabout journeys. It's been almost two months since I got my black '94 and mine, too, needs some sorting (twisted seat, doors won't lock) but nothing that can't wait. A friend recently called me an "anachronistic bastard" (partly because I also just bought a portable victrola!) but the car has been a complete thrill so far. I've always wanted one, and in late 2003, it just looks breathtaking, and tends to make people smile. I feel like I want to share it with everyone. And I think it is befitting of the winter season, somewhat akin to the elegance of a Central Park carriage. Three coats of Raggtop recently applied too, water is beading, so I think we'll make it through in high style. I always wondered if people in convertibles were miserable with their tops up, while I always had my sunroof open...but that is NOT the case. There is so much joy in the promise of the next great top-down day!
