and came back for the rest later. They couldn't have had much effect on design in '91, or probably in '92 or '93 which are about the same car. They did seem to change the marketing mix toward converts from hatches in the last years of the C900 but I'd guess the design was still mainly Saab. As for early vs late C900's I love my '83 which I bought new, but when I get in my '92 with LH2.4 instead of CIS, AIC instead of cleaning and adjusting the idle screw, no aux air valve, no warm-up problems, fpr instead of setting fuel pressure manually, better discs, better calipers, better cruise, better seats, bigger pinion bearings, anti-sway bars, quicker turbo, there is no comparison. The only thing I miss is the cold start valve. The old CIS seems to start quicker.
Maybe I'm getting off more into design than reliablility, but I think the C900 got progressively better until the end. Actually some of the more notorious problems came from pre-GM years. Well you take the bad with the good.
