NG's are a great car, regardless of some of the posts you may have read stating otherwise. I have had 6 900 classics, one convertible and one spg, none were as smooth or reliable as my 96 900se. It currently has over 100k and only replaced DI, SID, and idler pulley, not bad for that many miles.
However, it doesn't have the charm of the classic 900's. Not sure how to explain it, but the new 900's are more of a car, while the older ones are more of an experience. I guess it's all in what your looking for, kinda like a women. The NG's are the trendy made up girls that are great looking now, but who knows in a couple of years. The classic 900's are the plain cute girl that will only improve with age.
Good luck either way.
