Steering rack
Water pump
Oil Pump
All coolant hoses and thermostat
Harmonic balancer
Alternator bushings
clutch and clutch slave
new belts
rebuilt axles (inner and outer boots) check inner drivers
* you don't have to remove the tripod brng to replace the boot - with a clean shart you can slide it all the way down from the CV side. Spend some$$ on synthetic grease and you want have to mess with them for a long time. I think I used $40 in redline if I'm not mistaken). Do make sure to get ALL the air out of them. One of my inners (pass side) puked on I85 in SC on the way to STPR. Fun roadside repair.
All motor mounts....

Should have also
upper a arm bushings (can't do now)
gearbox shifter bushing and seal (had "emergency" repair at Saab for $160 - that'll teach me!!)
Timimg chain tensioner (need to do)
As many vac lines as you can and use zip ties to keep them on (in process)
A/C bracket hole (need to do w/ tensioner)
Radiator fans - make sure yours are in good shape (done w/ man little cuts on the back of my hand)
Check all the wiring especially the bits along the radiator (had to replace wires to fan switch and boost selonoid)

Your 85 may have the typical wiring problem of the shielding falling of the wires. So check and double check the wiring. You'll be disturbing it when you remove the engine, so if you don't pull back the covering to make sure the shielding is still in place, you may wind up with a lot of wierd problems later. You may open up a can of worms, but better no rather than later.

You also may want to run some wires for an IC fan and aux lights while your playing with the wires.
