I have a 1990 900 non turbo. The first problem was that I failed my emissions test. The car was/is running way to ricj. The Nox reading was great but the CO and HC were way high.
I remmeber one day before taking the emissions test, I started the car in the morning to warm up. When I went back out, the car was off and I could not start it. I waited about 15 - 20 minutes and the car started right up. I didn't think much of it and failed emissions a few days later.
After failing I posted a message on this baord and subsequently swapped out the AMM, replaced the O2 sensor, changed the oil, filter, spark plugs, distribor cap and rotor. I also ran a few bottles of RXP (http://www.rxp.com) through the tank.
I have yet to take the retest, so I don't know whether the work I did had an effect on the emissions, HOWEVER, I noticed twice more that the car will stall out when I start it and leave it running for a few minutes. Just this morning I started the car, checked the oil, ran inside to make a call and when I came back out I noticed that car was spuutering then died. I got in and tried to start the car but it would not crank like the other two times. After waiting about 10-15 minutes, it started and ran fine. I don't know if this problem is related to the car running rich and failing emissions or is something entirely different and unrelated.
The car runs fine, as long as I drive it, but if it just sits there after approx 10 minutes it just sputters and dies. It won't crank over until at least 10 minutes. I haven't gone for my emissions retest because I don't know if this is related.
Does anyone have any ideas?
