If you are replacing only the lower front shock bushings, I would leave the shocks and use poly. But if the uppers are shot, I would replace the shocks. You can buy new Boge shocks from Jim at sobstory 800-583-0370 for about the same price that you would have to pay a dealer for the upper shock bushings(maybe they are available aftermarket, but hard to find). Besides, to replace the upper busings, you have to remove the shocks anyway.

If you decide to replace the shocks, I would get the special socket for the top of the shock shaft. The driver's side is nasty to do without the socket to turn the shaft while you hold the nut. If you have an impact wrench with extra long sockets, you can spin the nut on without the special socket. Or you can replace teh single self locking nut with two standard nuts that you can lock together, but the socket makes the job easy, even with the self-locking nuts.

The sockets are available from snap-on, mac tool, or Lisle($7-8). The lisle socket is sold in many parts chain stores, but usually out or stock, when you need one. I would not recommend the shock kit, just the socket that goes on the shaft. The lisle tool is labeled for GM X body cars and fits the top of Boge shocks.
