help!--- e-brake not engaging? (long) Posted by kenS [Email] (#606) [Profile/Gallery] (more from kenS) on Fri, 2 Jan 2004 11:49:54 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
'87 900T, that's with the e-brake on the front and the sliding yoke thing,,, anyway, I just finished installing new rotors & pads, but now the e-brake on the pass. side doesn't seem to engage at all--- so if I work the lever directly on the caliper by hand, it doesn't grab at all (it's not a cable problem). I had a difficult time retracting the pistons on this brake sufficiently to fit the new pads (piston was really extended out at one point), could I have somehow disconnected whatever the e-brake lever connects to inside the mechanism? Question is, can this be fixed, or do I need a new caliper?
Otherwise the calipers seem to work ok, no leaks, good pedal feel, both wheels lock ok (at least at 30 mph or so), no pulling to one side, etc. E-brake on driver's side works fine. Any advice appreciated!
