I wanted to post a follow up related to my transmission failure and subsequent repair. I was all excited that the transmission was repaired easily after finding that the slip ring behind the front cover had become dislodged and the coupler had slid forward. I drove the car for a few days and the problem happened AGAIN! There went 3 quarts of oil for the trans. and I had to take it all apart again. I think I have it fixed permanently though... I used some safety wire and tied the 2 ends of the snap ring together to tighten it up. I was still able to get my snap ring pliers into the holes then when I got the ring put into place, I then twisted and tightened it up. So far so good... I hope it will never come off again. Thought I might pass this on so that people might do the same to prevent it from coming off again. Brian
