Oil Pumping Problem

Hey all,

Want to run this by before my 85 900T, Trodel, become a donor car.

One day I went to work and when stopping the oil light came on it would idle. I checked the oil and everything seemed ok. I had a new oil sensor at home so I figure I would replace it when I got home. I left and started it and the light came on and there was a horrible noise. I knew at this point there was no oil pumping and things were a lot worse than a busted sensor.

Took the oil pump off and replaced the seals. Ran a hose into the sump and was able to blow into the oil. Removed the oil filter housing and oil got to the pump from here too. I have blown compressed air into the rest of the system to see if there was anything causing resistance. So I put it all back together packing the pump with Vaseline and putting it all back together. Still no oil. I tried starting it with the oil housing off and nothing. I fear that the oil pick up tube is busted. Anyone have any other ideas? I heard there was external oil pumps you could use on some cars. Is this possible? If not then he will be donating his tranny to my other SAAB and he will head to that big junk yard in the sky after all other organs are removed that can be used.
