I have been messing around with my 89 900 NA too much and the ECU got toasted. I have been watching on e-Bay to get a new one (preferable a 90 900 NA) but in the mean time I installed a switch that grounds the fuel pump relay. I turn the switch on before I start the car and turn it off after I stop the car. The pump will keep running if you don't and will drain the battery. I know it's a band-aid but it keeps me on the road while waiting for a unit a a fair price. So far I have not forgotten to turn it off.
Good luck, Harold
